Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 October 2026
Photo2File helps you move work photos and videos from your photo library into folders you choose. This policy explains what the app accesses and what happens to that information.
The short version
- Photo2File does not collect, sell or share your personal data.
- There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
- Everything the app stores stays on your device.
- The developer never receives your photos or any information about them.
Photo library
With your permission, Photo2File reads the photos and videos in your library so you can review them and choose where each one goes. You can change this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
If you choose to remove originals after they have been copied, the app asks iOS to delete them. iOS asks you to confirm, and deleted items go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app.
Folders you choose
When you add a destination folder (for example in On My iPhone, iCloud Drive or an external drive), iOS gives Photo2File permission to access only that folder. The app copies your photos and videos there. These copies are then stored by whichever service provides that folder, such as Apple's iCloud Drive, under that provider's own terms.
Data stored on your device
To remember your work between sessions, Photo2File keeps a local database on your device. It contains:
- your destination folders, their names and colours, and the permission iOS granted to access them
- the folder you picked for each photo or video, and whether you've reviewed it
- a record of each transfer, including file checksums that are used to check that copies are complete
This data never leaves your device. It is removed when you delete the app. The app's diagnostic logs also stay on your device, in the system log.
Update check
When you open the app, it downloads a small settings file from tszlung.dev to check whether an update is required. The request contains no personal data or information about your photos. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the file, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. The developer doesn't use it to identify or track you.
Apple services
Some features use Apple services directly:
- iCloud Photos: if your library is stored in iCloud, iOS downloads the full-size originals from Apple when you copy them.
- Place names: when you view a photo's details, its location coordinates are sent to Apple Maps to look up a place name.
These requests go to Apple, not to the developer, and are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
Photo2File doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
